38-0 Daily Challenge and Leaderboard

The Daily Challenge is 38-0’s built-in way to compete fairly against everyone else playing that day — the retention hook the older games in this space never had.

What makes it fair

A normal run gives you a random draft. The Daily Challenge instead uses a fixed seed derived from the date, so everyone who plays it on the same UTC day gets the identical sequence of eras, club styles and candidate players, in the same order.

That turns the game into a pure test of draft skill. If you and a friend both play today’s challenge, you started from exactly the same options — so if your season turned out better, it’s because you built the better XI, not because you got luckier spins.

How to play it

  1. On the welcome screen, choose Play Daily Challenge (in Classic or Blind mode).
  2. Sign your XI from the day’s fixed options, using your rerolls as you see fit.
  3. Watch your 38-match season play out.
  4. On the results screen, enter a display name and submit to the leaderboard.

How the leaderboard ranks you

The public board sorts entries in this order:

  1. Perfect seasons first — anyone who went a full 38-0.
  2. Then unbeaten seasons — zero losses, even if there were draws.
  3. Then by points — most points from a possible 114.
  4. Then by fewest losses, and finally earliest submission as a tiebreaker.

So a 38-0 always outranks a 90-point unbeaten season, which outranks a higher-scoring side that lost a game. It’s the same hierarchy the game itself celebrates: perfect beats unbeaten beats merely excellent.

Privacy and fair play

No account or personal information is needed — just a display name, which is shown publicly (so don’t use a real one). The server verifies that a submitted run really is today’s Daily Challenge, so free-play runs can’t be passed off as challenge results. Entries clear automatically after three days.
